To spend any time at all in Jonray’s company was a truly wonderful thing. It was impossible not to be swept along by his enthusiasm, generosity of spirit and extraordinary creativity. The word inspirational is much overused but in Jonray’s case it is entirely appropriate, the sheer joy he had in his craft was utterly infectious.
Jonray and his brother Peter have achieved so much since they took over the family restaurant in 2006. In the past twelve months alone they were awarded Good Food Guide Chefs of 2015, retained a Michelin star for the sixth consecutive year and, most recently, fourth place in The Sunday Times Top 100 Restaurants List.
Casamia’s remarkable success is perhaps Jonray’s true legacy. The best possible testament to his exceptional talent, both now and for many years to come.
